Interview with iA Writer’s Oliver Reichenstein

Interview with iA Writer’s Oliver Reichenstein

Business Insider has a nice interview with Oliver Reichenstein, the guy behind [Information Architects Japan], part of the collective responsible for iA Writer, the iA³ WordPress template, and the always cool Web Trend Map.

I’m pretty sure it was the original web trend map that made me aware of iA, and since then I’ve appreciated a lot of the Reichenstein et al have had to say about design and the web and typography. Shucks, I even purchased the iA³ WordPress template to use on my own website.

Anyway, when they launched iA Writer for the iPad, it was my first must-have app. Sunam can correct me if I misremember, but I’m pretty sure it was the first iPad app I bought, as in paid actual money for. It is an awesome writing app, and I am so happy to see it doing so well. It is a unique convergence of things that mean a lot to me: typography, writing, coding, design, user experience, and excellent craft. The release of iA Writer for the Mac was another slice of UX heaven. In case you can’t tell, I’m a little bit of a fanboy.

If you haven’t seen them before, check out the web trend maps:
