Sitting on a couch silent

Sitting on a couch silent
Untitled ———— Sitting on the couch silent Your tiny feet together at attention You stare intently at the television Fighting to be heard past the noise of the street and the neighbors and the overworked smoke eater And you seem oblivious to my legs Inches away across the arms of my chair I cannot help watching the movement of your face from smile to frown to smile again In your lips, in your cheeks, in your eyes I watch a silent film of sepia tones.
